CS2 Jailbreak server Jailbreak

Guards give the orders, prisoners follow them or rebel. The community's old favourite. An English-speaking CS2 Jailbreak server in the EU, free to join.

Three roles, one voice in charge

Everyone joins as a prisoner. There is one guard for every two prisoners, and one of the guards is the warden.

  • Prisoner in Jailbreak

    Prisoner

Terrorist team · most of the server

You start the round locked in a cell. Do what the warden says, win the games, or pick your moment and rebel.

Goal: Stay alive to the end and earn a Death Wish.

  • Guard in Jailbreak

    Guard

Counter-Terrorist team · one per two prisoners

You enforce the warden's orders. A warning shot for small things, a kill for rebels, and never a freekill. A working microphone is required.

Goal: Keep order and keep the warden alive.

  • Warden in Jailbreak

    Warden

One guard who asked for it with !w

The only one who gives orders. You open the cells, call the games and decide who gets a Death Wish. You need a clear microphone.

Goal: Run a round people want to play again.

Learn to play warden: read the rules, try the quiz, see the warden commands.

How a round goes

A round lasts up to ten minutes.

  1. The warden opens the cells
    01

    The cells open

Everyone joins as a prisoner. Guards type !w to stand for warden and one of them is drawn. Nobody is made warden without asking: if no guard takes the job, the cells open by themselves and the prisoners get a freeday. The warden opens the cells with !open and gives the first order.

  2. Prisoners carry out an order while the guards watch
    02

    Orders and games

Follow the order, play the map's minigames, or freeze if you cannot do what was asked. A prisoner who grabs a gun or goes for a guard is marked by the server and hunted down.

  3. The last prisoner makes a Death Wish
    03

    Death Wish

The last prisoner alive who followed orders and finished the warden's minigame earns a Death Wish. Hide or rebel your way to last and you get none. The wish is something for the next round, such as a freeday or a special day, and the warden has to allow it. It can be asked for once three minutes of the round have been played.

The colours tell you who is who

The server paints player models so nobody has to argue about who broke the rules. A mark wears off about ten seconds after the last offence, and holding a gun keeps it on.

Not marked by the server: knife swings that miss, grenades and silenced shots. Other ways of rebelling, like leaving your cell early or going into a vent, are for the guards to see.

  • Red

Fired a gun that is not silenced, hurt a guard with a gun, or kept a gun in hand for more than five seconds. Killed on sight, no pardon.

  • Purple

Knifed a guard, or pressed the cell button while the cells were closed, and has not touched a gun. Reach for a gun after that and purple turns red.

  • Green

Freeday. Takes no orders and walks free, as long as they do not rebel or hurt a guard.

  • Warden

The man in the shirt, tie and waistcoat. The voice you listen to.

Rebels

A round is not only the warden's show. Any prisoner can stop playing along. Rebelling is anything on the rules' list of acts of rebelling, anything that turns you red, or disobeying an order in a threatening way. It gets you hunted, and it is half of what makes Jailbreak fun.

  • The sneaky rebel

    The sneaky rebel

Finds a weapon, keeps it out of sight and follows orders like everyone else, until the moment is right. One guard goes down before anyone knows who did it.

  • The uprising

    The uprising

Once a few guards are dead the whole yard stops listening. Prisoners scatter across the map, the orders mean nothing any more, and the guards left alive have to hunt.

  • The one who never rebels

    The one who never rebels

Does every order, wins the games and stays alive. The goal is to be the last prisoner standing and earn a Death Wish.

Common ways it starts

  • The cell with a vent

    The cell with a vent

On our map one cell hides a vent behind its privacy wall. Whoever spawns there can be gone before the cells open. Which cell is for you to find.

  • A weapon in a cell

    A weapon in a cell

Another cell has a pistol lying out of sight from the door. Pick it up and you are armed before the warden has said a word.

  • The blind corner

    The blind corner

The warden leads the group somewhere, and at a corner nobody is watching one prisoner bunny hops away.

Why it happens: sometimes the warden runs a dull day and the prisoners make their own fun. For some players rebelling is the whole point of the round. Either way the colours above keep score: fire a gun or shoot a guard and you are red, knife a guard and you are purple. Guards kill a red prisoner on sight, even if the warden pardons them.

Warden games

Two classics a warden can run with nothing but his voice.

  • Simon Says

The warden announces the game and that he is Simon. From then on only an order that starts with "Simon says" counts. Fail to do one and you are killed. Do something that was said without "Simon says" and you are killed too. The warden has to say clearly when the game starts and when it stops.

  • First reaction, last reaction

Before an order the warden calls "first reaction" or "last reaction". On first reaction the first prisoner to do it is killed; on last reaction, the last one. Listen to which one was called, because the right move is the opposite each time.

The warden's tools

A warden runs the round by voice. These make it easier to be understood.

  • The warden menu !wm

Every warden action in one text menu, grouped, with the command each one runs next to it. The quickest way to learn the job.

  • Paint hold E and aim

Draw on the floor or a wall to show where to stand or where to go. A line fades about ten seconds after you finish it.

  • Marker the ping key

Drops a ring where you point. A few seconds later you are told how many prisoners stand in it; !count asks again.

  • Colour teams !colors 2, !colors marker 2

Splits the prisoners into coloured teams at random: !colors with a number splits everyone, !colors marker only those standing in your marker. A rebel never gets a team colour.

  • Bring a prisoner !wtp

Puts one living prisoner right in front of you: for someone stuck, hiding or away from his keyboard. Once every 30 seconds.

  • Chicken and ball !chicken, !ball

Props for your games: a few chickens and footballs per round. The ball lands on your marker.

Good to know

  • Hit markers

Clear hit markers for every player, no setup needed.

  • Warmup countdown

Between maps and on a quiet server the screen says Warmup and counts down to the first round. Cells are open and nobody is warden; !cp and !gocp save a spot and jump back to it for practice.

  • Death Wish

A round lasts up to ten minutes. The last prisoner alive asks for a Death Wish with !dw once three minutes have been played.

  • Bare cells, quiet dead

Prisoners start with a knife and no armour. The dead cannot talk or type to the living, so nobody is told where the last rebel hides.

  • Supporter looks

Active Supporters pick a warden icon and marker and paint colours with !donate, and carry a gold heart in chat. Looks only: nothing a supporter gets changes who wins.

Fifteen special days

Staff can swap a normal round for one of these. Everyone starts a special day equal: 100 health and no armour, and nobody can be hurt until the day really starts.

Free For All, Gun Game, Hide and Seek, Infection and eleven moreExpand
  • Free For All

    Everyone against everyone.

  • Gun Game

Each kill moves you to the next weapon. A knife kill sets the victim back. The first one through every weapon wins, the round ends, and the winner gets a freeday next round.

  • Hide and Seek

Prisoners hide, then the guards are let out to find them. Hiders keep a knife but cannot hurt the seekers.

  • Infection

Guards are zombies. A fallen prisoner turns the one nearest.

  • War Day

    Guards against prisoners, all out.

  • No Scope Day

Snipers without scopes for everybody. The last one standing gets a freeday next round.

  • One in the Chamber

A pistol with one bullet. A kill earns the next one. The last one standing gets a freeday next round.

  • HE Grenade Day

    Grenades and nothing else.

  • Bunny Hop Day

    Automatic bunny hopping for everyone.

  • Fog Day

Free for all in thick fog that slowly lifts.

  • Ghost War

Free for all where everyone flickers between visible and invisible.

  • Teleport Day

Free for all. Hurt someone and the two of you swap places.

  • Rocket Jump

Shoot the ground to launch yourself.

  • Speedrun

One player records a route, the rest race it. Slowest is out.

  • Custom Day

The warden makes up the rules.

Read the rules before your first round

Jailbreak runs on its rules: what counts as rebelling, when a guard may shoot, how freedays and the Death Wish work. Ten minutes of reading saves you a ban for a freekill.

Questions

What is the Jailbreak server IP, and how do I join?

The server address is eu.yappershq.com:27015. Press Join on this page, or open the CS2 console and type: connect eu.yappershq.com:27015. You need Counter-Strike 2 on Steam, nothing else.

Do I need to download maps or mods first?

No. Jailbreak runs custom Workshop maps and CS2 downloads the current one by itself while you connect. The first join on a new map takes a little longer.

How many players fit on the server?

40. The live player count and the current map are at the top of this page.

Do I need a microphone?

To be warden, yes: the warden gives orders by voice. As a prisoner or guard you can play without one, but you have to hear the orders.

Where do I see my stats?

On your profile on this site and on the Jailbreak leaderboard: wardens, rebels, guards, prisoners, no-scopes and records. A round counts with six or more players and after two minutes.

What do supporters get here?

Looks only: a warden icon, marker and paint colours with !donate, and a gold heart in chat. Nothing a supporter gets changes who wins.

Is it free to play?

Yes, playing is free. Donating is optional: it goes into growing the community and gets you Active Supporter status.

Is Jailbreak a workshop map I have to download and host?

No. It is a server that is already running: you join it in one click or by its IP and play with whoever is on. There is nothing to host, no port forwarding and no "unable to establish connection" with friends.

I was banned. What now?

Every ban is on the public ban list with its reason and length. The ban list page explains how to appeal.
