How Combat Surf works
Combat Surf is team deathmatch on surf maps. You slide along the ramps to build speed and shoot the other team while you do it. There is no timer and there are no records: it is about the fight, not the fastest run.
You respawn after every death, with two seconds of spawn protection, so nobody sits out. Air control is turned up for surfing and bunny hopping is automatic.
Everyone starts with armour and a helmet for free. Weapons are mostly picked up from the ground at spots on the map you reach by surfing, and you can also buy one if you surf into a buy zone. Players who end up in a map's jail room are put back at their team's spawn.
How to get a Combat Surf game going
The Combat Surf server sleeps until somebody schedules a game. Pick Combat Surf and a time on the Fill to Play page; the game is posted on our Discord, people say they are in, and the server starts ten minutes before. Games already scheduled here are listed near the top of this page.

Questions
Why is the Combat Surf server offline?
It is an on-demand server. It runs when a Fill to Play game is scheduled on it and sleeps the rest of the time. Schedule a game on the Fill to Play page and it starts ten minutes before.
What is the Combat Surf server IP, and how do I join?
The server address is eu.yappershq.com:27023. When a game is running a Join button shows on this page; you can also open the CS2 console and type: connect eu.yappershq.com:27023.
Do I need to download maps or mods first?
No. The surf map comes from the Steam Workshop and CS2 downloads it by itself while you connect.
Is there a timer or a record list?
No. Combat Surf is team deathmatch on a surf map: it is about the fight, not the fastest run. You respawn after every death.
I have never surfed. Can I play?
Yes. Air control is turned up and bunny hopping is automatic; hold a strafe key into the ramp and do not press forward.
Is it free to play?
Yes, playing is free. Donating is optional: it goes into growing the community and gets you Active Supporter status.
Is Combat Surf a workshop map I have to download and host?
No. It is a server that is already running: you join it in one click or by its IP and play with whoever is on. There is nothing to host, no port forwarding and no "unable to establish connection" with friends.
